Challenge

The main challenge was gaining approval for a fully illustrative approach. The event’s brand guide didn’t include illustration, so this was uncharted territory for the team. We needed to propose a style that felt fresh but still connected to the established brand.

Goal

Create a long-form, fully illustrative explainer video that promoted the FT Weekend Festival, while ensuring consistency with the festival’s brand identity and engaging a wide audience.

Solution

I developed a line-art, ink-inspired illustration style that echoed the animation of the Festival logo, creating a strong visual link between the branding and the new artwork. The process included storyboarding, design boards, and sourcing references from Adobe Stock, later refined with AI-generated visuals. I handled the full production—from pre-production through minimal sound design—delivering a unique and engaging promo video that brought fresh creative energy to the brand and stimulated interest from new audiences.
